See us in action........

In Science our topic is 'Keeping Warm' and we have taken parts in lots of experiments. We have been finding out which materials are thermal insulators and best for keeping a drink hotter for longer. Also we made jackets for mini snowmen to see how long it would stop them from melting!

 

In maths we have been doing work on weighing and we had a fantastic time making salt dough!

 

Monday 28th January was the start of our book week. We had to bring our pyjamas to school and put them on in the afternoon. Then we had drink and biscuits and 'bedtime stories'. We had a great time!!

 

 

Southend

On Tuesday 21st June Year 2 all went on a trip to Southend. When we went back to school the next day we had to send postcards as if we were sending them from Southend. Here are a couple of the postcards we wrote:
Dear All,

I'm having a smashing time at Southend - the weather is roasting, I can bearly breathe! Right now i'm just having a mouth watering ice-cream. I'm having to wipe my mouth with a baby wipe I would love to go again its so good! Like right now i'm making a long river with sea water in it. Wish you were here

Dear all

Haveing a buatefull time at the seaside with my friends and I had an ice cream and a drink. after my ice cold drink and my tasty vanila cold ice cream we went to bulild a humungurs sandcastle.  A few minits later we had to wash our hands then have our lunch . We had a fantastic time!

Pirates

In year 2 we have had pirates day!!! This was a fantastic day where we all had to come to school dressed as pirates.
Ms Brannan came into our class and she was really  frightened. Then she said to Laila aren’t you scared of these pirates with hooks and swords but Laila replied 'no I am not scared'. We wore lots of different  tops which had skull and crossbones on them and a stripy red and black trousers. Lots of the children were wearing eye patches.
In the afternoon we had a man come in to teach us all about pirates and how they were on their boats. It was really good fun and we had a great 'Pirates day' in 2R.

Art - Van Gogh

In 2PS this term we have been learning all about space.
We thought that is would be a good idea in our art lesson  if we used the theme of Space.
Our class looked at a piece of work by an artists from many years ago called 'Van Gogh'. The painting is called 'Starry Night' which we thought was very appropriate as we are learning all about space.

KS1 Christmas Party

On Tuesday 14th it was KS1’s CHRISTMAS PARTY!



Before we could eat we played musical statues and the music was brilliant.Then we played musical bumps, where we could win prizes. After that we all went in are classroom and we ate nearly all of the food that was delicious. Next we played in are class room pass the parcel.


We really enjoyed the games and our parties. HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Book Week!!!

Last week, was an amazing week...it was BOOK WEEK!1!

We had a great time at school, in Year 1, we designed our very own book covered that got enetered into a competition and on the Friday, we had a book mask parade. We really had to work hard on our masks, as they were being judged by the teachers at the parade. The best bit about book week though, was when year 5 came down to read with year 1 and we had a fantastic time!

Snow Day

On Wednesday 6th January 2010 ... the school was covered in snow! We could hardly believe it...it was so exciting and we even got to go out and play in the snow! We made huge snowmen and even bigger snowballs!!!
